Dual Enrollment

Covenant College offers dual enrollment courses at a number of like-minded Christian high schools. Covenant’s dual enrollment program gives students the opportunity to earn both high school and college credit in classes overseen and approved by Covenant College full-time faculty. Covenant ensures that all dual enrollment courses are:

  1. Taught by an approved dual enrollment adjunct faculty member. The credentials of every DE adjunct are reviewed by Covenant’s Dean for Academic Partnership and the appropriate full-time faculty member at Covenant who oversees the subject area being taught. All dual enrollment adjunct faculty members must hold at least a master’s degree in the academic field in which they are teaching.
  2. College-level courses that justifiably award college credit. These credits are generally transferrable to any accredited college or university.
  3. Supported by appropriate learning resources and other services. Schools approved to offer DE courses have been evaluated by the Dean for Academic Partnership to ensure that students are offered appropriate library resources, advising, and other support services.
  4. Governed by admissions policies requiring that students meet the criteria for honors or advanced placement courses at their high school in order to be eligible to enroll in a DE course.

Covenant currently offers DE courses in Spanish, French, art, psychology, chemistry, English, math, political science, and statistics at its partnership high schools. There are no dual enrollment courses offered online.

For more information about current DE programs or to inquire about becoming a partnership high school, contact Dr. James Drexler, Dean of Academic Partnerships at jdrexler@covenant.edu or Dr. Collin Messer, Vice President for Academic Affairs at collin.messer@covenant.edu.
