Directory of Teacher Education Graduates

The purpose of the Teacher Education Program at Covenant College is to prepare competent and compassionate teachers who practice their profession according to biblical guidelines in diverse educational settings. Candidates develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to become teachers who model life-long learning and faithful service to God as change-agents in society.

Procedures

The teacher candidates listed below will graduate on May 6, 2023. Upon graduation, they will be eligible for teacher certification in the state of Georgia, as well as certification through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Prospective employers are welcome to contact individual teacher candidates for information on their availability.

The Covenant College Teacher Education Program is approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). An electronic credential file is created in the spring for each candidate and is available to you upon request. Annaliese (Anna) Baldwin

 
Anna also has a minor in Community Development. She is open to teaching any grade, and would also enjoy coaching volleyball. Anna has worked as a counselor and program coordinator for a youth summer camp. Anna  has accepted employment for the 2023-2024 school year.

Lillie most enjoys K-3rd grades. Her co-curricular interests include coaching soccer. She has extensive work experience as a nanny.

Caitie also has minors in Art and Psychology. She most loves K-1st grades, and would enjoy participating in her school’s art club/program. She has six years of experience as a K-12 camp counselor.

Molly prefers to teach K-3rd grades. She has work experience as a nanny, a teacher’s assistant, and a coach with a multiethnic summer sports program.

Rebekah would most enjoy teaching 3rd through 5th grades. Her co-curricular interests include ESOL and theatre. She has teaching experience as an English camp instructor in an international school setting.

Grace most enjoys grades K-3rd. She would enjoy participating in yearbook, school newspaper, or theatre. Grace has extensive experience as a childcare provider, both in academic/camp settings and in individual/family contexts.

Nicole Restrepo

 
Nicole also has a minor in Spanish. She most enjoys 1st grade, and her co-curricular interests include ESOL, coaching tennis, or leading yearbook. Nicole has directed the K-8 summer tennis camps at a Georgia private school since 2020. She also has experience tutoring elementary students. Nicole has accepted employment for the 2023-2024 school year.

Social Studies, 4-8

Meriel graduated from Covenant College with a major in Education Studies (with concentrations in Language Arts and Social Studies) and a minor in Sports Administration. She currently teaches social studies part-time at a local private school. Meriel’s co-curricular interests include volleyball and student life activities. Meriel has accepted employment for the 2023-2024 school year.

Music, P-12

Alexis graduated from Covenant College with a major in Music and a minor in Education. She prefers to teach grades 6-12, and her co-curricular interests include volleyball and theater. Alexis has served as a church youth ministry leader since 2020.

Carey graduated from Covenant College cum laude with a B.S. in Organizational Management. She has seven years’ experience working as a middle school paraprofessional, and currently teaches English at a local high school. Her teaching interests include English, business, consumer science, and music.

Carter holds a B.S. in Early Childhood/Elementary/Special Education from Samford University. She is in her tenth year of teaching at a private K-12 school.

Daniel Gilbert

Mathematics, 4-8

Daniel holds a degree from the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga in Health & Exercise Science. He currently teaches 6th-grade mathematics a local magnet school. He enjoys working with students in the 6-8th grades, as well as coaching basketball. Daniel has accepted employment for the 2023-2024 school year.

Biology, 6-12

Heidi graduated from Covenant College summa cum laude with a major in Biology. She looks forward to teaching middle grades sciences or high school biology. She is also interested in coaching soccer. Heidi has teaching experience including long-term substituting from August to November 2022.

Mateus graduated from Covenant College with a major in Education Studies (with concentrations in Social Studies and Mathematics) and a minor in History. He plans to teach high school history and, if the opportunity arises, coach soccer.

Yolanda holds a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Jackson State University, as well as a B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Delta State University. She currently teaches 8th-grade language arts at a Georgia middle school.

Luke graduated from Covenant College with a double major in History and Biblical & Theological Studies. He currently teaches 7th-grade history part-time at a local private school. Law, Public Safety, and Corrections, 6-12

Richard’s undergraduate degree is in Criminal Justice Administration. He worked in the criminal justice profession from 1997-2020, and now teaches at a technical high school. He most enjoys teaching the 12th grade, and is interested in coaching baseball, golf, or a debate club.
