Directory of Teacher Education Graduates
The purpose of the Teacher Education Program at Covenant College is to prepare competent and compassionate teachers who practice their profession according to biblical guidelines in diverse educational settings. Candidates develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to become teachers who model life-long learning and faithful service to God as change-agents in society.
Procedures
The teacher candidates listed below will graduate on May 10, 2024. Upon graduation, they will be eligible for teacher certification in the state of Georgia, as well as certification through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Prospective employers are welcome to contact individual teacher candidates for information on their availability.
The Covenant College Teacher Education Program is approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). An electronic credential file is created in the spring for each candidate and is available to you upon request. Teacher Candidates with a Bachelors in Elementary Education (P-5)
Anna Catherine Beachy
Anna Catherine would prefer to teach Pre-K to 1st grade, but she is open to teaching other grades as well. She has two years of experience working as a Junior Kindergarten Assistant at a private school.
Macie Boren
Macie is a double major in Elementary Education and Education Studies, with a concentration in mathematics. She would love to teach 4th-7th grade math. Macie would also be interested in coaching basketball, football, or soccer, and has played all three sports. She has two years of experience as a youth leader. This fall, Macie will spend some of her time tutoring kids in Chattanooga.
Matthew Duncan
Matthew would prefer to teach 2nd grade. His favorite subject to teach is English. Matthew loves writing and has 8 years of experience working at a Bible camp.
Nouwen Entrekin
Nouwen is open to teaching any grades. She specifically loves teaching math. Nouwen would enjoy coaching girls’ soccer and helping out with musical theatre productions. Nouwen once worked at an Early Learning Center that served preschoolers from lower income families and a neighboring homeless shelter.
Sarah Holler
Sarah would enjoy teaching Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Sarah is also interested in teaching internationally and doing intervention work with children/ESL. She would love to coach Track & Field (pole vault specifically) or soccer.
Helena Nagy
Helena has an art minor and would be most interested in teaching art in a K-5 school or teaching in a K-3 classroom. She is also interested in coaching softball. In addition to her student teaching practicums, Helena has worked as a Summer School Employee/Assistant at two different schools in Pre-K, 4th, and 5th grade classrooms.
Lily Och
Upon graduation, Lily plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology. She has two years of experience as a private math tutor. She may be interested in helping in a school’s theatre or music department one day.
Emma Riggs
Emma would prefer to teach 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade. She would be interested in coaching soccer or being involved with FCA.
Hannah Smith
Hannah has a Missions minor. Upon graduation she would prefer to teach Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade. She would enjoy working on the yearbook at her future school, or with the drama or music departments. Hannah has two summers of experience working with elementary-aged students at a summer camp in Georgia.
Olivia Stefl
Olivia would enjoy teaching 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade. Her favorite subject to teach is math. She would also be interested in coaching softball. Olivia has experience teaching at a summer camp for refugee children.
Kailah Stout
Kailah has a sociology minor. She would prefer to teach Kindergarten, but would also enjoy Pre-K, 1st, or 2nd grade. Kailah would love to coach volleyball one day. She has four years of experience working with four to six year-olds at a Montessori School summer camp. She has also helped with Sunday school for Pre-K – 1st graders at her home church.
Christina Sullivan
Christina has a Music minor. She would prefer to teach Kindergarten or 1st grade. Christina is open to helping with any co-curricular activities, but would especially enjoy anything involving music or reading. Christina spent a summer working at a learning center for children with learning differences, has worked as a YMCA childcare attendant, and a private piano teacher.
Ana Vereen
Ana would love to teach younger grades, specifically Pre-K through 2nd grade. She would enjoy coaching volleyball or potentially other sports for elementary aged students.
Teacher Candidates with a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree
Alison Carlin
English, 6-12
Alison graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Honors English and a Minor in Business. In addition to the MAT, she is currently pursuing a B.A. in Biblical and Cultural Exegesis from Eternity Bible College. She is currently teaching 5th/6th grade Communications and 12th grade English at a private school in Georgia. Alison’s co-curricular interests include coaching soccer or swim, leading Bible studies and assisting with the band and literary magazine.
Mandi Csuka
Art, P-12
Mandi graduated from Trinity Christian College with a B.A. in Studio Art and Psychology. She would enjoy teaching high school art and being involved with an art club. She has experience interning at an after school art program.
Victoria De Lima
Language Arts, 4-8
Victoria graduated from Covenant College with a B.A. in Education Studies (with concentrations in Language Arts and Social Studies). She also has a minor in Sociology. She is currently teaching 5th- 8th grade ELA, 9th-10th grade World History, and 1st -2nd grade ELL at a Christian International school. Victoria’s co-curricular interests include curriculum coordinating, yearbook, and Girls’ Mentorship Programs.
Lydia Dorman
History, 6-12
Lydia graduated magna cum laude from Covenant College with a B.A. in History. She had two minors: Education and Community Development. Lydia is currently teaching 7th grade Social Studies at a Christian school in Florida. She would enjoy coaching cross country or track and field. Her other co-curricular interests include leading community service projects and Bible studies.
Gill Dunn
English, 6-12
Gill graduated from Covenant College with a B.A. in English and a Philosophy minor. He would prefer to teach 10th grade English. He has experience teaching tennis and would be interested in doing so again.
Madelyn Dyk
English, 6-12
Madelyn graduated summa cum laude from Covenant College with a B.A. in English and a French minor. She also holds a Master of Arts in English Literary Studies from Baylor University. As a graduate student at Baylor, she taught an Intro to Research and Writing course. Madelyn is currently teaching 8th & 9th grade Writing & Literature at a Christian school in Pennsylvania. Madelyn’s co-curricular interests include piano lessons, student council, and leading Bible studies.
Amen Hodouto
French, P-12
Amen has a B.A. in Foreign Language Studies - Linguistics from the Université de Lomé, an M.A. in Christian Ministries – Community Chaplaincy from Liberty University Seminary, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. He is currently teaching French at a public school in Georgia. Amen’s co-curricular interests include soccer and music.
Anya Klumpenhower
Drama, P-12
Anya graduated from Covenant College with a B.A. in Theatre and a minor in English. She has directed five productions in the past including musical theatre and Shakespeare, and has worked in theatre tech at both an educational and professional level. Anya is interested in teaching 6th-12th grade Theatre and in directing plays and musicals.
Will Martin
Music, P-12
Will graduated with High Honors from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.A. in Music Technology and a minor in Law, Science, and Technology. He is currently teaching Music at a public school in Georgia. Will’s co-curricular interests include baseball, robotics, and new-music ensemble.
Paul Michael
History, 6-12
Paul graduated from Covenant College with a B.A. in History and English. He would prefer to teach High School History. He has experience working in the Library and Writing Center (as a tutor) at Covenant College.
Ellie Thompson
Art, P-12
Ellie graduated cum laude from Covenant College with a B.A. in Art, with a 3D concentration. Ellie prefers teaching High School art and especially enjoys anything related to 3D design or Art History. Her co-curricular interests include poetry, visual art shows, and film club.
Lucas Vazquez
Mathematics, 6-12
Lucas graduated cum laude from Covenant College with a B.A. in Mathematics and History. Lucas is currently teaching 6th grade Math at a public middle school in Georgia. His co-curricular interests include coaching soccer and teaching chess.
Eli Witt
History, 6-12
Eli graduated from Covenant College with a B.A. in Sport Management and minors in Business and History. He would like to teach 6th-8th grade History. Eli’s co-curricular interests include coaching basketball or football.
