Health Sciences
The Health Sciences major at Covenant College seeks to cultivate graduates who understand the human person as an integrated unity of body, mind, and spirit—created in God’s image and called to serve others through the health professions. Through rigorous study of biological and behavioral sciences, reflective integration of faith and learning, and experiential engagement in health-related practice, students learn to approach health care not merely as a technical discipline but as a redemptive vocation that mirrors Christ’s compassion and advances human flourishing.

Program Overview
The Health Science major equips students not only with the academic skills needed for graduate and professional programs but also a deeper understanding of how their faith calls them to serve and care for others in the field of healthcare. The Health Science major includes coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology and Psychology required by most graduate programs, but it also includes elective courses that enable students to get in-depth experience within their chosen field; for example: students can choose from courses such as Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, and Lifespan Development. Most importantly, students will take courses that help them to practice thinking about how their faith impacts the way that they live out their calling; students can explore these topics in courses like Faith and Suffering, Global Health, Sociology of Health, and Bioethics.
