Student Senate

Student Senate exists to insure that students have an active voice in campus issues, problems, and student rights. The Senate provides leadership and direction in the planning and implementation of activities which promote spiritual, social, emotional, and intellectual growth. In all of its functions, Student Senate strives to recognize Christ’s preeminence.

Student Senate has selected Philippians 2:1-4 as its Scripture passage for the 2015-2016 year:

“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

Goal on Senate this year

I would like to see Senate as an organization that is able to thoughtfully discuss and respond to issues on campus. In addition, I would like to see Senate become a place where issues beyond Covenant's campus can be freely discussed. Senate should not only care about the Covenant community, but also how the Covenant community responds to issues going on down the mountain, throughout the United States, and around the world.
