Center for Calling & Career
Watch as Dr. John Plating describes the mission and function of the Center for Calling & Career at Covenant:
Whether you are interested in local, national, or international opportunities, forprofit or nonprofit organizations, large corporations or small businesses, there are opportunities available for those interested in pursuing them. Because we seek to help you boldly identify and pursue your callings, the Center for Calling & Career actively works to build relationships with employers who are seeking students for internships and job opportunities.
Similarly, we want to work with you to offer constructive feedback on how to best communicate your gifts to potential employers and organizations. We will be here to assist with resume building, acquisition of networking tools, and even fine tuning your interview skills along the way. Below you will find resources to help you boldly pursue your callings.
In our four step approach, we want to help you:
- Assess what callings you might be best suited for, using the Focus2 tool
- Explore vocational possibilities and build your resume
- Identify and narrow down those possibilities through an internship
- Pursue a vocation, merging together your gifts, disposition, and society’s needs
