Grievance Reporting

Covenant College is committed to fostering a respectful and equitable work environment grounded in our Christian values. Employees who have concerns related to workplace treatment, policies, procedures, or the work environment are encouraged to seek resolution through the College’s Employee Grievance and Appeals Procedure.

The Employee Grievance and Appeals Procedure includes both the grievance submission and appeal process.

When appropriate or possible, employees are encouraged to first seek informal resolution by speaking with their supervisor or contacting Human Resources. If a concern cannot be resolved informally, a formal grievance may be submitted in writing.

Guidance on Reporting

• General workplace concerns as well as academic freedom concerns may be addressed through the Employee Grievance process.
• Academic freedom concerns are reviewed by the Office of Academic Affairs.
• Concerns involving discrimination, harassment, or retaliation are addressed under the College’s EEO, Title IX, or Section 504 policies.

If you are unsure which process applies, you may still submit your concern or contact Human Resources for guidance. The College will ensure your concern is reviewed under the appropriate process.

What to Expect

Concerns submitted through the grievance process are reviewed by the appropriate office, and next steps are determined in accordance with the Employee Grievance and Appeals Procedure. The process is designed to provide a fair and confidential pathway for review, investigation, and resolution.
