Study Abroad
Study Abroad
The Global Education Office offers students the opportunity to learn and grow their faith in intercultural contexts by partnering with study abroad programs around the world for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. Studying abroad is a great way to expand your horizons by seeking out environments, courses, and internships that speak to your academic and career goals. For our World Language and International Studies majors, studying abroad is even a degree completion requirement!

How to Get Started
Check out our Approved Partner Programs to hear from students about their experience and find an opportunity that works for you. You are welcome to schedule an appointment with the Global Ed Office to learn more about our partners, application procedure, financing your trip, and much more. Read through the Study Abroad Student Handbook in the Resources section below for application deadlines and requirements.

Programs & Features
From one-on-one tutorials in Oxford to studio art classes in Aix-en-Provence and Spanish immersion in Seville, we partner with study abroad programs that suit many students interests and majors. For more information about which Approved Partner Program is right for you, follow the link below.
Each summer, Covenant College offers three-week intensive course options to students called May Terms. Several of these are typically hosted in global contexts, led by Covenant faculty.
Students who are accepted into an Approved Partner Program for a semester-long experience are eligible to receive financial aid resources if they take a full-time course load. The amount of institutional financial aid that can be applied varies depending on the program and the student’s degree requirements.
For most majors, study abroad travel is not a degree requirement. These students are eligible for 50% of their institutional aid. Students whose majors require them to study abroad (World Languages and International Studies) are eligible for 100% of institutional financial aid. All students are eligible for 100% of their external aid packages such as federal, state, or private scholarships, grants, and loans.
Check out the Budgeting Worksheet in the Resources section below for more information.
The Global Education Office encourages students to sign up for the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) conducted by the U.S. Department of State. This free service allows the U.S. Department of State to contact a traveler in emergency situations such as a family crisis or crisis arising in the country of the traveler.
The student is solely responsible for becoming familiar with the local conditions, laws, and regulations of their host country. Check out www. travel.state.org for information from the US Dept. of State regarding safety, local law enforcement services, and cultural norms of your host country and any other countries you intend to visit.
