God's Faithfulness During Debilitating Illness

Ila Casselberry '13 graduated with a community development major and an economics & Spanish double minor. During her time at Covenant, she knew she wanted to do research and evaluation based on her internship with Food for the Hungry. After graduating from Covenant, Ila went on to earn her Master of Public Health and worked in primary care and behavioral health research and evaluation. She currently manages the Compassion International Impact Research Team. The team designs and conducts research studies to measure the impact of Compassion programs on the lives of children, their families, and the local church.

Regarding God's faithfulness, Ila mentioned her contraction of Lyme disease between her freshman and sophomore year at Covenant. She spent years being extremely ill and at times was unable to work due to battling pancreatitis, dysautonomia, and mast cell disease.

"God has supplied my every need and provided me with good doctors and treatments which have helped improve my quality of life tremendously," she said.

Ila loves research, evaluation, statistics, and measurement theory, so she plans to stay in her current field of work until she feels God telling her otherwise!

Thank you for your Kingdom work, Ila!
