Danny Hill '29 was named a National Semifinalist in the 2026 National Student Auditions

Now that the results of this year’s National Student Auditions have been publicly released, Covenant College is delighted to share that rising sophomore Daniel Hill '29 was named a National Semifinalist in the 2026 National Student Auditions (NSA), hosted by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
This accomplishment follows an outstanding series of competitive performances at both the regional and national levels.
After placing third in his Musical Theatre category at the NATS Southeast Regional Auditions, which represents Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Hill advanced to the national preliminary round. From a pool of nearly 1,200 student-singers who submitted more than 3,700 video auditions, he was selected as one of just 15 semifinalists in his division: lower post-high school men, college freshmen and sophomores specializing in musical theatre.
This semifinal round took place in person July 3–5 in San Antonio, Texas, as part of the NATS National Conference, with singers representing regions across the United States, Canada, and an international cohort spanning four continents.
Although Hill was not selected as one of the three finalists, his selection as a semifinalist places him among the top 15 competitors in the nation in his category—an exceptional distinction at a level where differences between finalists are extraordinarily narrow.
A student of Professor James Richardson, Hill represented Covenant College with distinction on the national stage.
