COVID-19: Reminders as Classes Begin
As we complete final preparations for the start of classes on Monday, I want to extend my heart-felt thanks for your hard work during these last weeks. I am praying for good connections (in every sense) as you reinitiate instruction.
Here are a few reminders:
Please make sure you connect with students prior to classes beginning. Some students report not having heard from some professors.
Please be sure to record any synchronous instruction as you deliver it.
If you have any courses for which a fee was assessed and in which the students will not receive the intended benefit, please let me know by the end of the day Monday. If fees were spent in a similar manner to the original intent, you do not need to let me know.
Contracts for next year are due on Tuesday, March 31. If you are not going to be on campus, you may scan your signed contract and email it to me.
You will receive another invitation to the Great Colleges to Work For survey. Please take a few minutes to complete it. So far, the faculty response rate is fairly low and the data we collect will be helpful in evaluating progress on important college initiatives.
May your next week be filled with joyful work. God bless your efforts.
David Washburn suggested some wording from UGA that might be helpful to include in your syllabi or on your Canvas sites. Although not required, such a posting might be prudent. Here is the wording:
All content created in this course, including videos, handouts, etc., may be used only by students enrolled in the course for purposes relating to the course. No materials may be shared with students outside of the class or posted in any external forum.
