COVID-19: Student Senate Elections Updated Deadlines
Due to the unprecedented season we are in, Senate believes it best to extend and adjust Student Senate spring elections for Residence Hall Presidents, Class Presidents and the Multicultural Liaison.
Here is the updated timeline:
Friday, April 3rd - election packets due via email to email@example.com by noon on Friday.
Tuesday, April 7th - online elections via Google Forms from 7 am to 8pm.
Wednesday, April 8th - run off elections as necessary also on Google Forms.
Election packets are attached below for your convenience. We are disregarding the signature requirement for this election cycle. Instead, the current 2019-2020 Senate will approve candidates. The remainder of the packet should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org either as pictures or scanned copies.
Those running for Multicultural Liaison still need to achieve approval from at least 3 of the current multicultural leaders (Jed Williams, Christopher Davila, Karuna Taylor, Lisa Hill, Grace Seto, Zachary McKillop, Maggie Chiang)
by emailing the multicultural leaders mentioned above and additionally emailing Cammie Messer and Emily Balint. Email approval will count for approval for this role as long as Emily Balint and Cammie Messer are attached.
Formal debates are cancelled but will be replaced by a series of questions answered by the candidate that will be attached to the election form in a pdf. Candidates can also create a one minute video explaining why they are running if they would like.
Please please please let me know if you have any questions regarding this new process - the entirety of Senate is here to serve you even from a distance.
Praying for us all and for Covenant in this time. Looking forward to seeing some of you come August. Grace & peace to you and yours.
