What's a Covenant Student Really Like?

Colleges often showcase the best parts of their institutions. Promotional materials are filled with smiling, happy students. While these pictures capture at least part of college life, they don’t tell much about the students behind the photo.

When choosing a college, you want to find a place where you feel at home and can also grow with the students around you. You want a place where different personalities grow together, creating a unique environment.

If you’re wondering what a Covenant student looks like, here are a few defining traits of Covenant College students.

Covenant students are:

Curious

Covenant students are notorious for asking tough questions, and professors are delighted to answer them. One of the best ways to grow as a believer and an individual is through continual curiosity and a humble, teachable spirit.

Grounded and Imperfect Followers of Jesus

Covenant students value rich faith and know where their identity is found. This doesn’t mean that they are perfect or have everything figured out, but it does mean that they continue to move towards Jesus through all of life’s seasons because they are grounded in the Gospel.

Delight in Life-giving Fun

Academics are important, but they aren’t the only thing you spend your time on in college. A Covenant student is someone who enjoys life’s simple pleasures, likes spending time in community, pursues passions and hobbies, and, most importantly, loves to laugh! Having fun is the best way to keep a healthy perspective on assignments and other challenges during college.

Unique

No matter where their passions and talents lie, Covenant students are unique in how they pursue excellence in every facet of their life. It’s not about being the best; it’s about showcasing Christ in every avenue of life.

We hope this has been helpful in your college decision process. Can you see yourself in any of these traits? If this sounds like the kind of friends you want and people you want to shape you, come join us on the mountain. Start your application here!
