RESPONSIBILITY:

The Athletic Communications Assistant is responsible to the Director of Athletic Communications and the Director of Athletics for the performance of the duties that this job description assigns.  

 

DUTIES:

Assist in all aspects of providing coverage and promotion of Covenant College and its 14 intercollegiate athletic programs.

Serve as primary contact for assigned sports.

Write press releases, game notes and stories for publication.

Update and maintain social media accounts and athletic department website.

Assist in all aspects of pre-game, in-game, and post-game production of game operations.

Update team and individual statistics for both in-game use and historical purposes.

Produce graphics for social media, website, gameday programs, and others as necessary.

Produce videos (game highlights, features, etc.) for social media and website use.

Supervise and manage student-workers at home games.

Assist the Director of Athletics in budget maintenance and any other assigned tasks

Other duties as assigned.

 

BENEFITS:

10-month position.

$10,000 per year stipend.

The position is renewable each year, per mutual agreement.

Full tuition covered for the pursuit for either a MBA or MSA (Master of Sport Administration)

No health benefits are offered in this position.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

At least one year of relevant experience in intercollegiate athletics.

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, etc.)

Working knowledge The Automated Scorebook (TAS)/StatCrew and NCAA Live Stats

A strong understanding of and commitment to NCAA Division III.

A commitment to adhering to all policies, rules, and regulations of Covenant College, USA South Athletic Conference and the NCAA. 

Ability to work cooperatively with other administrators, coaches, students and faculty members.

Good written and oral communication skills.

A strong understanding of and commitment to Scripture, the Westminster Standards, the doctrinal standards of the PCA, and the mission of Covenant College as a Christian liberal arts college.

Acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
