In a fallen world where pain and suffering are an everyday reality for many people, the healing professions provide an avenue of faithful service to the Healer and Redeemer of all things. Covenant's core education and science coursework provides students called to physical therapy with the essential foundations for doctoral programs in physical therapy. The health professions concentration of the biology major will fulfill key science prerequisites for physical therapy schools.

Program Overview

Students interested in pursuing a calling in physical therapy primarily need to show strong academic performance as they fulfill prerequisite coursework that is required for admission into physical therapy schools. While most students at Covenant complete this prerequisite coursework in the health professions concentration of the biology major, a student in any academic major (with careful planning and advising) can successfully complete prerequisite pre-physical therapy coursework as electives outside their chosen major.

As upper level electives, many of our pre-physical therapy students take our courses in Exercise Physiology and/or Kinesiology.

This experience helps students to discern whether they are truly well-suited for a career in physical therapy and also provides an advantage in the admissions process for physical therapy school.
