Besides school? Heh. When not studying or in the classroom, I’m probably playing soccer, talking in lobbies, eating, sleeping or enjoying downtown Chattanooga.

Favorite place on campus
There are a lot of good places, but I like the lawn, any bench on campus, and the library.

Honors received at Covenant
Maclellan & Leadership Scholarship

Why did you choose Covenant?
I chose Covenant because I was looking for a solid academic school that also kept Christ the center of all things. I think many Christian schools compromise one of those two, but I thought Covenant did a great job of combining them.

How is Covenant unique?
Covenant is unique because of the people who are here. The faculty, staff, and students here create an atmosphere that is welcoming, fun, supportive, serious when it needs to be, and just unique. What does it look like for a college to be serious and fun? Ah, I'm glad you asked. I've been here less than two months, and already I've dressed up like a Smurf for our Sadie Hawkins dance, lost my voice from cheering like a crazy Scots fan, had a dance party in a hall, and eaten loads of ice cream. I've also watched the sunrise while worshipping with hundreds of students, discussed the differences between Biblical theologies with other students, analyzed what it means to be a servant leader, and contemplated the church's role in promoting social justice – serious and fun? Yes.

What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?
My favorite experience at Covenant so far has been orientation week, and playing on the women’s soccer team. O-Week was packed full and really helped get me into the swing of things. The soccer team is just a great group of girls who have provided a really good support system as we little freshmen get adjusted!

What is your favorite class, and why?
I’d have to say, as of right now, it is “Old Testament” with Dr. MacDougall. We are only one month into the class and I’ve already learned so much. He explains things really well, outlines clearly on the board and lets us students ask a lot of questions. I always leave that class thinking deeply.

What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you, and why?
At this point, there have been so many people who have impacted me by helping me make the transition to college. Just picking one is hard. Can I just say all of the seniors on the soccer team? As a group, they have been so supportive and hearing their testimonies and what God has done in their lives has been really encouraging.

How do you see your experience on Covenant's soccer team shaping your experience at Covenant?
Soccer definitely takes up a lot of time. So, as far as dividing my time goes, the soccer team shapes how I spend my time and with whom I spend it! But, because all the girls are great people, I don't mind spending a lot of time with them! In a way, playing a sport helps me organize my time because I realize that I only have a certain amount of time to study so it helps me focus. Covenant's soccer team is definitely different from most other teams. I had a club team in high school that was really close. We still get together to hang out, so when choosing a college, I wanted a team that was like that: friends on and off the field. I think it is really hard to find girls' teams that really push each other on the field to work hard, but regardless of what happens on the field still love and encourage each other. I haven't even mentioned the coaches, the spiritual accountability... the list goes on.

What’s your favorite part of the day at Covenant?
Definitely sunrise and sunset. It is beautiful. Really, any time of day when you are outside on the mountain is great.

What are your post-graduation plans?
That is still very much open to discussion, but, as of right now, I’m thinking about graduate school in education, maybe in a foreign country. Then I would love to live in another country, speak another language and tell people about Jesus wherever I am!

How is Covenant equipping you for the future?
I think Covenant is equipping me for the future by giving me a rigorous, well-rounded liberal arts education, by helping me grow spiritually through lectures, chapel and people that sharpen me, and by providing a community and connections that hopefully I will maintain for the rest of my life.
