Favorite place on campus
My favorite place on campus is the windowsill on my hall. I can see down the mountain, and it is so beautiful. One day I watched a storm start in Chattanooga, move toward the campus, go over me, and then disappear. It was so amazing.

Why did you choose Covenant?
I chose Covenant the day I set foot on campus. It was in October of my senior year. I fell in love. It was so beautiful and the people were so nice. I sat in on an education class, and I realized that I would get a great education here. I grew up going to public school and I really wanted to finally be taught from a Christian perspective, and that is exactly what you get here at Covenant. I met a lot of great students when I was here for scholarship weekend, many that ended up here and many that did not, but I am still friends with all of them!

How is Covenant unique?
Covenant is unique in so many ways. First of all, it is a Christian school, which can be hard to find. The admissions office really wants you to be here, and they will work with you to get you here. The people are amazing. I have made so many lifelong friends here, and the staff and faculty are great! They really care about you. At Covenant, you are not just a number; you are a person that the people here value.

What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?
My favorite experience was one of the men’s soccer games I went to. Everyone was there and painted up. I had my face painted, and I was cheering. It was so cool to see the student body and some staff members together cheering for the Scots to win! Soccer is not very big where I am from, and it was cool to see everyone there. The best part is that I got sunburnt with the paint on my face and had white lines on my face for a week! But it was worth it!

What is your favorite class, and why?
My favorite class is Kiddie Lit with Dr. Pennington, because I get to learn about the books! I love to read children’s books so this gives me a great excuse to do just that! I am very opinionated, and I get to express my opinions with Dr. Pennington and my fellow classmates. Plus we get to write and illustrate a children’s book!

What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you, and why?
Dr. Beckman has had the greatest impact on me, because he is always there for me. I can always just go and talk to him and he helps me out with everything! When I was stressed about exams, I talked to him and he prayed for me and I felt at peace. He is wonderful and I cannot wait to take more classes with him!

What’s your favorite part of the day at Covenant?
I love lunchtime. Not because of the food, but because of the people. I end up being in the Great Hall for an hour or two just chatting and getting to know people better. I am very social, so I usually just go from one table to the next talking to many friends and new people and enjoying their company.

What are your post-graduation plans?
Right now, I want to work in the states for three to five years while I raise support, then I want to go teach at the Christian International School in Prague for as long as I can. Then I am going to come back to the states and hopefully get my master's.

How is Covenant equipping you for the future?
Covenant is giving me a great education to be an educator. Not just that, but a Christian educator. I am learning from a wide range of teachers in many subjects. This gives me a well-rounded education and a better ability to teach my future students.
