My dad is military so I move every two years, but right now my family lives in Pensacola, Florida.
I run varsity cross-country, but I love intramurals, especially volleyball and soccer, journaling, dancing, hiking, being outside, kayaking, swimming, residence life, hall activities, and I am always up for trying something new.
Favorite place on campus
Oh! Do I have to pick just one? The trails.
Why did you choose Covenant?
Covenant was definitely not what I had in mind; Covenant was completely God’s plan for me. I had applied to seven state schools, and was planning on going to Appalachian State University. However, at the end of my senior year my youth pastor (who attended Covenant) brought our youth group up for a visit, and the moment I stepped on campus I knew I was supposed to be here. The community was especially appealing to me; residence life, smaller class size, the interaction between professors and students, and not to mention the beautiful location! It was during my visit here that I applied, and here I am! And have I mentioned, I am loving it!
How is Covenant unique?
I love hall life! I never thought that living with 36 girls would be so enriching, encouraging, and exciting. I love the spontaneous dance parties in the middle of the night as well as the community of accountability. My hall has done everything from caving to paintballing to scavenger hunts downtown. There is always someone to pray with you and you never have to worry about finding a running partner. I have already developed friendships that I see carrying throughout and beyond college. Here at Covenant residence life is unlike any other college—each hall has its own personality and crazy traditions, which makes the experience here so much different.
What has been your favorite experience at Covenant?
My favorite thing about Covenant is student-led worship. Campus wide worship is incredibly powerful and is what makes our school so unique. We are all here with the same purpose, and that is to worship God with all that we are.
What is your favorite class?
Theory of Community Development (CDV210) has changed my life. The material in this class exposes the raw truth and requires a lot of reflection, I would always leave that class feeling convicted. I also thoroughly enjoyed all of Dr. Fikkert and Dr. Corbett’s lectures. They are full of experience, and I love how they tell you how it is.
What person at Covenant has had the greatest impact on you?
The friendships I have developed here have impacted me the most. My friends have encouraged and have helped me grow so much this past year. Knowing that someone genuinely cares and will be praying with you is truly a blessing.
What’s your favorite part of the day at Covenant?
My favorite part of the day is dinnertime because it is the point in everyone’s day where we can all just stop and breathe for a second. Usually by dinner everyone is done with classes and practice so it is a great meal for everyone to slow it down and enjoy each other’s company.
How is Covenant equipping you for the future?
Covenant has grown me so much spiritually. Covenant encourages a balanced, holistic, Christian worldview which has really put things into perspective for me. I am so incredibly broken, and my creator is so incredibly merciful. My faith has been strengthened here at Covenant, and I have learned I must put all I am in Jesus Christ and fully rely on him.
