Commencement is a momentous occasion when we at Covenant join our graduates and their families and friends in celebrating the accomplishments of these last years, thanking God for His grace and provision, and looking ahead to His purposes in the lives of our graduates. At Covenant, we earnestly believe that the One "who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Commencement will be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center in downtown Chattanooga. Below you will find information on our upcoming commencement exercises and related events. We look forward to families and friends joining us for this celebration!

Commencement Speaker

We are pleased to welcome our own John Holberg, Covenant’s research instruction and special collections librarian, as the speaker for our 59th annual commencement. Prior to his arrival at Covenant College in the fall of 2003, John Holberg obtained a Master of Studies in Research Methods from Oxford University, a Master of Library Science from the University of Arizona, a Master of Arts in English from the University of Nebraska, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from New Mexico State University.

His tireless efforts in providing research assistance and instruction to students and faculty, his consistent professionalism, and a serious desire to advance academic enterprise have earned him the respect and admiration of the entire community. John Holberg is truly passionate about his craft and the importance of Christian higher education. His loyalty and commitment to the Covenant community through his work as an academic librarian is truly a gift to the entire church.
