Gabi Van Schoyck '08 Awarded Prestigious Fulbright Grant

Gabi Van Schoyck was recently awarded a prestigious Fulbright grant, making her the second Covenant College student to have been a Fulbright scholar.

Van Schoyck, who majored in community development and is a May 2008 graduate, will fly to Hong Kong in August to teach English for ten months at the Honk Kong Institute of Education as a part of the Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

Michael Ward Speaks About His Book on C.S. Lewis, April 10

Anglican clergyman, writer, and speaker Dr. Michael Ward will lecture on his recent book Planet Narnia: The Seven Heavens in the Imagination of C.S. Lewis in Covenant College's chapel on Thursday, April 10, at 11:00 a.m.

In Planet Narnia, Ward argues that Lewis secretly based the Chronicles of Narnia on the seven heavens of the medieval cosmos. This year Ward is touring the United States and United Kingdom, lecturing on his book.

Covenant College presents the second annual Brock Lecture Series on Authentic Christian Leadership, January 24, 2008, with keynote speaker Steve Reinemund.

The Brock Lecture Series was established in honor of former Covenant College president Dr. Frank Brock. Dr. Brock set an example of servant-leadership at Covenant after his previous career in executive leadership with the Brock Candy Company had made him in business terms a very successful man.

Anne Caudle Rymer, 1920-2007

On December 30, 2007, Anne Caudle Rymer died in a way that reflected how she had lived, with great faith, calm, and love. In the Jupiter (Florida) Hospital, her daughter, son, daughter-in-law, grandson, and a close friend were with her as she departed after a sudden onset of pneumonia.
