Art Exhibit and Reception: Brian Jobe
“Channel Modules,” an architectural installation by Brian Jobe, will be on display January 10 through February 13, 2013, in the Covenant College art gallery on the second floor of Kresge Memorial Library.
“I am particularly inspired by interstate highways, modular architecture, and caution colors,” writes Jobe on his website. “The regularity of elements placed in sequence suggests a tactile rhythm. Within gallery installations, the context of site plays a key role in the final structural configuration.”
“Jobe will create a specific piece for our gallery,” says Jeff Morton, professor of art. “He likes to make architectural installations that require people to walk through and engage in a kind of participatory manner. We’re excited about his show.”
A reception will be held at 7:00 p.m. on January 16, followed by a lecture at 8:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
