Covenant Hosts Global Gospel Advancement Week
November 1, 2010, begins Global Gospel Advancement Week at Covenant College. This year's guest speakers include Deborah Dortzbach, Dr. Michael Oh, and a pastor from the Middle East. Attendees will also enjoy an international dinner and the opportunity to hear from Covenant's Mu Kappa students.
Debbie Dortzbach is World Relief's international director for HIV/AIDS programs. She provides strategic leadership to World Relief's Mobilizing for Life AIDS programs in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. She and her husband, Karl, first served as missionaries in Eritrea, where she was abducted by the Eritrean Liberation Front in 1973. She continues to promote the involvement of churches in the AIDS crisis, through frequent speaking engagements, radio interviews, and articles.
Rev. Dr. Michael Oh is president of Christ Bible Institute and Seminary in Nagoya, Japan. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Lausanne Movement and is the leader of the Lausanne Younger Leaders Team. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, another M.A. from Harvard, and his M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He has also served with Mission to the World as a pastor and church planter.
