Covenant College celebrated its 57th annual commencement on May 5, 2012. Families, friends, and Covenant faculty and staff joined the Class of 2012 in thanking God for his grace and provision, celebrating our graduates’ accomplishments, and praying for God’s blessing upon the lives of these newest Covenant alumni.
Members of the Class of 2012 and Covenant’s faculty processed into the ceremony as the Covenant Pipe & Drum Corps played.
Following an invocation by Professor Lance Wescher, graduate testimonies were shared by Sophy Beers ’12, David Rowe ’12, Robyn Burlew ’12, and Peter McCrory ’12. Rev. Tullian Tchividjian, senior pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, gave the commencement address.
Professors Jeff Hall, Camille Hallstrom, and Matthew Vos presented the candidates for graduation, and President Niel Nielson awarded the degrees. Chairman Martin Moore thanked Dr. Nielson for his ten years of service as president and, on behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Presbyterian Church in America, congratulated the graduates.
Both Professors Dan MacDougall and Ginner Hudson prayed for the Class of 2012, and all in attendance sang the College hymn, “All for Jesus,” before the recessional.
