Leah Baugh ’12 Receives American Chemical Society Scholarship
Leah Baugh ’12 received this year’s student scholarship award from the Chattanooga section of the American Chemical Society. The scholarship will go toward her continuing education in chemistry.
Leah graduated from Covenant in May. She plans to work as a chemist for at least a year, gaining some experience before going on to graduate school. “I want to get into botanical chemistry,” she says.
Each year the scholarship is presented to two outstanding chemistry majors who intend to pursue graduate work in the field. “One award always goes to a student from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga,” says Dr. Larry Mehne, professor of chemistry. “The other award goes to a student from one of the other colleges in our area, chosen by the faculty of that college.”
