Covenant Tennis Teams Earn Post-Season Honors

At the close of the tennis season, the Appalachian Athletic Conference presented the 2007-2008 Co-Champions of Character award to both the Covenant College men's and women's tennis teams.

In addition, freshman Josh Jeremiah is ranked #37 in the nation in the NAIA in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll of the season. The ITA poll ranks the top 50 players in the country.

"This is quite an accomplishment," said tennis coach Katherine Smith, "since this is the first year for the Covenant men to officially compete. Joshua had some notable wins against several players that were ranked #24 and #25 in the first poll and most, if not all, of the players he competed against have had much more tournament experience."

Post-season AAC awards were presented to several individual tennis players.
