Covenant Chorale and Chamber Singers in Concert
The Covenant College Music Department presents a Choral Concert on Friday, April 17, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dora Maclellan Brown Memorial Chapel. The concert, conducted by Associate Professor of Music Dr. Ken Anderson, will include both the Covenant Chorale and Chamber Singers.
The Covenant Chorale will be performing Wolfgang A. Mozart's famous Requiem and will be accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Covenant College. Among other works, the Chamber Singers will be performing Dietrich Buxtehude's Cantata for Mixed Chorus: Rejoice, Beloved Christians and Ralph Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs for baritone solo and chorus, featuring Asher Payne '09.
Miss Joy Casoria will accompany both ensembles. Organist John Wigal will assist the Chorale for Mozart's Requiem, and organist Eshtan Anderson will assist the Chamber Singers for Buxtehude's cantata.
Previously, the ensembles have performed works from the romantic era and the twentieth century. This semester, the music department is excited to present works from the classical and baroque eras as well.
