Spring Festival Concert

Don’t Worry, Don’t Fret, Don’t Be Anxious--Walk Instead by Faith

The Covenant College Chorale and Chamber Singers, as well as brass and jazz ensembles, will present their annual spring concert on April 27, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., in the Dora Maclellan Brown Memorial Chapel.

Lead by Dr. Scott Finch, an associate professor of music, and James Ward ‘72, this concert’s theme focuses on releasing our worries and concerns to Him who not only reigns over every aspect of our lives, but has also secured our eternal salvation through Christ’s death and resurrection.

“It comes down to a matter of grateful obedience and living in light of Christ’s death as well as his resurrection to new life,” Dr. Finch remarked. “We have been set free not to worry.”

This year, in addition to Covenant College’s own ensembles, the festival concert will include Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church’s Chancel Choir, directed by Joy Gibbons and Lookout Children’s Community Chorus, directed by Scott Finch.

The select compositions span several periods and multiple styles, from Russian and Latin pieces performed by Covenant’s chorale to the traditional hymns by LMPC’s Chancel Choir.

The festival concert is free and all are welcome to attend.
