Dr. Peter Slade to Present Lecture Series

Dr. Peter Slade

Dr. Peter Slade will give three lectures as part of Covenant's ongoing series of academic lectures. A religion professor at Ashland University, Slade teaches courses on the history of Christianity and Christian thought. He is the author of the book Open Friendship in a Closed Society: Mission Mississippi and a Theology of Friendship, a study of the largest sustained Christian movement for racial reconciliation in the southern United States.

"We invited Slade because his recent book addresses part of our denominational history we do not often talk about or even acknowledge," says Christiana Fitzpatrick, special programs and mentoring coordinator. "We hope he will challenge us to consider how our theology is worked out in our lives, and to be honest about the past and its implications for the present and future in the PCA. We're delighted that he will be with us for this series."

All three lectures are free and open to the public.
