Dr. Kevin Vanhoozer to Speak
On January 30-31, 2012, Covenant will host its annual Academic Lecture Series. This year’s speaker is Dr. Kevin Vanhoozer, Blanchard Professor of Theology at Wheaton College.
“Through his publications, teaching, and wide engagement across the disciplines, Kevin serves as a wonderful example of fresh ways to think about 'doing' theology under the authority of Scripture, with joyous appreciation of tradition, even as he is genuinely concerned about the practices of the Church,” says Dr. Kelly Kapic, professor of theological studies.
“During his time here Kevin will be inviting us to consider what he calls the ‘drama of doctrine.’ Our hope is that students in all majors will be challenged and encouraged by his distinctive approach to theology, an approach which we believe will resonate well within our community."
