Tenure Track position in Biblical Studies - Jakarta, Indonesia
Covenant College, an agency of the Presbyterian Church in America and a Christian college emphasizing the liberal arts in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition, is assisting with the selection of faculty members for the International Teachers College at Universitas Pelita Harapan (ITC@UPH) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Covenant invites applications for a position in the Biblical and Theological Studies Department beginning in the 2014-2015 academic year.
Covenant is partnering with an educational foundation in Indonesia to help start this new campus, and is also continuing discussions with that foundation with the hope of initiating a branch campus in the fall of 2015. If successful, the branch campus would seek to undertake and continue the work that is beginning with this effort. The numeric growth of the Christian church in Asia, an increased interest in Christian education, and new freedoms in a variety of countries combine to make this a unique time and possibility. Contact Dr. James Drexler, Dean of Education, for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies (OT or NT) and must be able to subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith. Previous undergraduate teaching and ministerial experience are desired. Prior experience in international and/or cross-cultural settings is a plus, but not required. Successful candidates will primarily be responsible for survey courses in both OT and NT.
